Looking to improve your cello playing?
Sign up for my free cello workshop
With many music-related organizations cancelling events and limiting availability, continuing to grow on your instrument can be challenging at this time. I am offering a free virtual workshop for middle to high school age cellists. Each participant will receive the chance to refine their cello playing through three lessons and a performance opportunity.
Who am I?
&
Why am I doing this?
My name is Alex Glaubitz and I am a Cleveland Heights-based cello teacher. I currently teach cello lessons from my private studio and at the Aurora School of Music. I’m offering this workshop to promote musical growth in the community at a time when other music facilities may not be able to operate at their normal capacity.
What does this workshop offer?
Throughout the workshop I will:
Familiarize myself with your cello needs
Not everyone has the same aspirations when it comes to their cello playing. Why someone is studying the cello is important in setting their trajectory.
Help you develop phrasing
Developing ones own sense of musicality is a process that takes repeated exposure to beautiful performances. Each week I will leave you with a favorite recording to supplement your growth.
Diagnose your technical discomforts
Cello should be enjoyable to play, and if you’re uncomfortable it won’t be. I want to get to the root of what’s causing your technical problems to make your time behind the cello more fun.
Prepare you for what’s next
Whether you have an audition coming up or simply want to keep progressing on the cello, performance opportunities help you grow. At the end of the workshop you get a chance to solidify your new cello knowledge.
